Nacho Rey

Manic Freak is a wild, eccentric character who lives for vertigo, imbalance and the thrill of the unexpected.

With juggling, acrobatics and jaw-dropping balancing acts, he turns tension into laughter and chaos into poetry. Moving freely among the audience, he breaks the rules of traditional performance and creates a playful, absurd and highly contagious experience.

Tender, ridiculous and just a little dangerous — Manic Freak brings out the mischievous child in all of us.

THE MOST IMPORTANT WORKS

• In 2022 he toured festivals in Europe and participated in the Piglet Circus in Germany. He works in the creation and was the main character. 
• In 2020 and 2021 he creates and premieres El Naides, a one-man show directed by Javier Lester Abalsamo. 
• Main clown in Shwedagon International Circus en el 2017. A french production, with internacionals artists, the group did more than 200 shows in 8 months in Myanmar.
• Presentation at talks TEDX Mar del Plata 2018.
• Circuito Sesc das Artes and Circuito Paulista in Brazil. With Manic Freak´show and with Cambalache Circo.
• In 2010 participed in the organization “Clowns without Borders” making shows in Haití.
• In October 2011 he worked in “Rambo Circus” in India.
• En el 2005 created, with his family, the Festival Internacional de Circo Hazmerreir in his city, Mar del Plata (Argentina). They made 12 great editions.
• In 2002 he performed in Teatro Colon of Buenos Aires like main acrobat in the opera “Muerte en Venecia”.
• In 2003 he made publicities and musicals videos for FX Stunt Company.

STUDIES

• In 1998 and 1997 estudied in the Circus School “La Brecha” in Mar del Plata.
• In 2001, 2002 and 2003 estudied in Circo Criollo School in Buenos Aires.
• En 2002 he trained acrobatic gymnastic in Le Tramp Gym.
