Muruya Circo
"Curls, Tango & Slackrope" is a one-woman show that blends circus, humour and visual poetry in a performance brimming with sensitivity and playfulness. Through a universal language, it combines acrobatics, tightrope walking, hula hoops and the elegance of tango to create a world where balance coexists with the absurd and laughter springs from the unexpected. With the innocent and playful gaze of a clown, each scene invites the audience to discover the beauty of simplicity; Muruya transforms challenges into moments of humour and emotion and shares them with the audience.
Curls, Tango & Slackrope
- Scenic space: minimum 6m width x 6m deep
- 1 ancor point on each side of the performing area, possible distance in between : 8m to 20m
- Light (evening or inside show): Stage needs to be well lit with bright lights from the front and the sides.
- Required: Flat, smooth, dry floor
Biography
Josefina Pérez Gardey is Muruya. She was born in 1990, in Tandil, province of Buenos Aires, Argentina
- European tour / 2025: Zsolnay Light Festival. Hungary, Slottuintheater & Cirque des Dunes, Netherlands.
- She created the show Mama Octopus in 2023 and premiered it in December of the same year. It is based on her experience as a mother and other motherhoods. It is a tribute to mothers.
- She performed in more than 17 countries.
- She was part of the International Circus in Myanmar for 8 months.
- She was part of Piglet Circus in Germany in 2022.
- Participated in important Festivals around the world with the above show:
Sigetz Festival in Budapest 2015 / Ceará Circus Festival and Festival do Circo do Recife, Brazil 2014 / Gadeteater Festival in Denmark 2022. 2013/ 24-Internationales Gaukler – und Kleinkunstfestival in Koblenz Germany 2015/ IX Festival de Teatro Callejero al Aire Puro Bogotá in Colombia/ CircoFest in Puerto Rico 2019, etc. - In 2021 she writes and publishes his first book: ‘A Circus in Myanmar’.
- She studied at the ‘Escuela Nacional de Circo de Rio de Janeiro’, Brazil and at the ‘Escuela de Artes Urbanas’ in Rosario, Argentina.
- Award: Estrella de Mar 2014, Best children’s show with Hazmereir en Vacaciones.
- She was one of the organizers of the International Circus Festival Hazmereir and is part of the NGO Hazmereir., she performs solidarity shows in Argentina in her city, Mar del Plata.
